THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts in the next three hours. Dry weather will continue from April 20th. There will be rain at one or two places in the state on April 16 and 17, but Kollam, Palakkad and Thrissur are expected to experience a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. Day temperature will be up to 38 degree Celsius in Kozhikode and Kannur and 37 degree Celsius in Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Kasaragod these days.
As part of the Kallakadal phenomenon, the Meteorological Department has also warned that there is a possibility of sea attack due to high waves along the Kerala coast and southern Tamil Nadu coastal areas.
Fishermen and coastal dwellers should be alert as there is a possibility of storm surge.
1. As the rough seas are likely to intensify, stay away from the danger areas as per the instructions of the authorities.
2. Keep fishing vessels (boats, canoes etc.) safely moored in the harbor. Keeping a safe distance between boats can avoid the possibility of collision. Safety of fishing equipment should be ensured.
3. Avoid trips to the beach and activities at sea completely.
