Devaswom vigilance cracks down illegal ghee sales in Sabarimala; Keezhsanthi arrested

PATHANAMTHITTA: One Keezhsanthi (priest) has been arrested for involving in the illegal selling of ghee in Sabarimala. Manoj, a native of Cherai, was caught by Devaswom Vigilance and Rs 14,565 was seized from him. Manoj was assigned duty on the west side of the temple at the ghee exchange counter. After the arrest, the executive officer informed the Pampa police to take further action.

According to the executive officers, Rs 12, 000 illegally collected from devotees was found from Manoj’s quarters while an additional Rs 2000 was also recovered. Manoj was arrested during a raid conducted by the Temple Special Officer and the Devaswom Vigilance and Security Department.
