Chance of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kerala; Kerala State Disaster Management Authority with facebook post

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IMD has said that there is a possibility of isolated heavy rain in the districts of Kozhikode and Wayanad on April 18 and 19. A yellow alert has been issued in both the districts. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.

Rain is likely in ten districts on Wednesday, April 17. The Meteorological Department has informed that along with Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts, Palakkad and Malappuram districts will also receive rain. There is a possibility of light rain in all districts on April 20. Eight districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur are likely to receive rain today.

At the same time, the Meteorological Department has informed that people should be extremely cautious as there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kerala from April 16 to 17. A warning has also been issued that thundershowers along with strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour are likely to occur in isolated places in Kerala from April 18 to 20.
