Action has been recommended against South Wayanad Divisional Forest Officer A Sajna, Kalpatta Range Officer K Neetu, Flying Squad Range Officer K Sajeevan, Section Forest Officers KK Chandran and Veerankutty, seven beat forest officers and six watchers.

Forest Minister AK Saseendran said that the recommendation of Vigilance Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests is based on the report submitted by the special team of Forest Vigilance. Vigilance has recommended suspension of the Kalpatta range officer. Clarification will be sought from DFO and Flying Squad Range Officer. If the explanation is not satisfactory, further action will be taken. Section Officer KK Chandran, Watcher Johnson and Balan, who were previously under suspension, will be added to the accused. The Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests has also recommended the transfer of other beat officers and watchers.
