Housewife pours petrol and sets herself ablaze during foreclosure proceedings; SI and others suffer burns

NEDUMKANDAM: In a shocking incident, a housewife attempted suicide during the foreclosure proceedings. The police officers who attempted to save her also sustained burns. It was Idukki Nedumkandam native Sheeba Dileep who attempted suicide after pouring petrol on her body. Grade SI Binoy and Woman Civil Officer Ambili suffered burns while trying to save her. Sheeba and the police officers have been rushed to the hospital.

The other day, a youth had attempted to murder an elderly woman by setting her on fire. Perinthalmanna native Mujeeb (38) was arrested by the police in the incident. Mujeeb and another person had broken into the house of Thazhekkad native Fathima (73) and attempted to set her ablaze after pouring petrol over her. However, Fathima managed to run away from them. Following this, Mujeeb threatened her by saying that he would come back and set her ablaze.
