Thiruvananthapuram airport to be closed for five hours on Sunday

SHANGUMUGHAM: The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport will be closed from 4 pm to 9 pm on Sunday to enable the traditional "Arattu" procession of Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple to pass through the runway. According to the airport authorities, flight service at the international airport will be temporarily suspended for five hours in order to conduct the Painkuni Arattu festival without any disruptions.

The flights scheduled to arrive at and depart from Thiruvananthapuram during this period have been rescheduled. Officials said that this information would be passed on to the passengers through their respective airlines.
