The district collector has received a complaint regarding the incident. It has been four years since Annamma, aged 94 of Vazhavila Vadakkecherivil in Karithode coming under Mezhuveli grama panchat in Pathanamthitta, had died. The application for voting at home was submitted in her name.

As per that, the BLO and ward member came home on April 18. The LDF in their complaint said her daughter-in-law, Annamma, aged 72, cast her vote on the application received on behalf of the 94-year-old. The BLO has admitted of the lapse. It is also alleged that the BLO is an activist of the UDF.
