THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has sought action against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his hate speech delivered during the election campaign in Rajasthan. The chief minister said Modi's remarks were defamatory and aimed at communal polarization and that the Prime Minister himself had resorted to political exploitation by citing communalism during the election period.

Pinarayi’s words
‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks about the Muslim community during the election campaign in Rajasthan's Banswara are defamatory and aimed at communal polarization. The derogatory reference to intruders is untrue and part of Sangh Parivar’s ideological code.

The fact that the Prime Minister himself has resorted to political exploitation by claiming communalism during the elections is an indication of the challenges facing democratic and secular values in the country.

The Muslim community was also accused of looting the country's wealth. The election commission should take strong action against these defamatory and communal remarks. All progressive and secular forces in the country need to come together to ensure transparent and democratic elections. The essence of this country is based on secularism and friendship. Any attitude or statement that harms it needs to be questioned and opposed.’

The Prime Minister's controversial remark was while speaking at an election rally in Rajasthan's Banswara. Modi said the manifesto of the Congress said the property will be divided according to the gold of mothers and sisters. The Manmohan Singh government had said that Muslims have the first right to the country's property. It means that all these properties will be given to those having more children and intruders. Should your hard-earned assets be given to intruders? Can you accept this?'

'Is that acceptable to you? Do governments have the right to confiscate your hard-earned property? The gold of your mothers and sisters is not for show but for their self-esteem. The value of their mangalayasutra is not in gold or its price but in relation to their life dreams. Modi also asked if you have said about stealing it.
