THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Voting machines on which voting was completed were sealed at the polling booths itself and brought to the 140 collection centres. From there, the voting machines were brought to the strong rooms of the counting centres last night itself. It was again sealed and secured with a double lock in the presence of political party representatives. Palakkad and Alathur Voting machines are in one centre. Voting machines from Kozhikode and Vadakara are kept in one place.
A platoon of security forces is guarding each center. There is a two-tier security system outside the strong rooms. Central Armed Police Force and State Armed Police are stationed nearby. 24-hour CCTV surveillance has also been installed. A gazetted officer and a police officer will always monitor the CCTV in the control room. Political party representatives can come here and assess the security. The strong room will next be opened in the presence of political party representatives on June 4, when the votes will be counted.
