Oommen Chandy was not given covid vaccine to avoid harm to his health; was afraid of side effects, says Chandy Oommen

KOTTAYAM: The medical controversy related to the late former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has been discussed again by his son Chandy Oommen MLA. He clarified on Facebook Live that Oommen Chandy was not given Covid vaccine to avoid harm to his health. He told the media the same afterwards. It was earlier alleged that Oommen Chandy was denied treatment.

"Time will prove the truth. No other son should face a condition like this. Father was not given the Covid vaccine to avoid harm to his health, fearing the side effects. Those who were behind this should apologize to Kerala society at least. They even kept telling that he was not given any medicine. He was not given the covid vaccine but was given all other treatments. The media that spread the news that he was not given treatment should apologise," said Chandy Oommen.

Oommen Chandy's treatment controversy has been discussed again in the context of the company revealing that the covid vaccine can cause serious side effects. The company disclosed that the covid vaccine AZD1222 (CoviShield in India) manufactured by AstraZeneca, a UK drug manufacturing company, causes serious side effects.

This has worried India as well. The pharmaceutical company stated in the UK High Court that the CoviShield vaccine could cause brain injury and heart attack. TTS (Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome), a medical condition in which the blood clots and the number of platelets in the blood decreases, is also possible. This is the first time the company has admitted that CoviShield has side effects.
