Suryakumar hits scintillating ton as Mumbai dashes Sunriser's playoff hopes

MUMBAI: Surya Kumar Yadav's century (102 not out in 51 balls) fortified a much-needed victory for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 173 runs with the loss of eight wickets. Mumbai Indians stumbled initially at 31/3, but Surya Kumar and Tilak Varma bolstered a strong partnership and led the team to a vital win. The duo put on a partnership of 143 runs off 79 balls for the fourth wicket.

After losing the toss and batting first, only Travis Head (48) and Captain Pat Cummins ​​ (35 off 17 balls) added something of value to Sunrisers. Captain Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla took 3 wickets each for Mumbai.
