MUMBAI: Surya Kumar Yadav's century (102 not out in 51 balls) fortified a much-needed victory for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday.
Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 173 runs with the loss of eight wickets. Mumbai Indians stumbled initially at 31/3, but Surya Kumar and Tilak Varma bolstered a strong partnership and led the team to a vital win. The duo put on a partnership of 143 runs off 79 balls for the fourth wicket.
After losing the toss and batting first, only Travis Head (48) and Captain Pat Cummins (35 off 17 balls) added something of value to Sunrisers. Captain Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla took 3 wickets each for Mumbai.
