THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC is set to do an overhaul in their reservation policy by including a refund of the ticket fare if a passenger is unable to board the bus after the vehicle got delayed by more than two hours. If the service is cancelled, the reserved amount will be refunded to the passenger's account within 24 hours, even if he does not take the travel allotted in the substitute bus. The proposal came from a committee headed by CMD Pramoj Shankar.

A fine will be levied from the online service provider if the journey is interrupted due to a technical error. If the service has to be terminated midway without reaching the destination, the appropriate ticket price will be refunded back to the passenger.

In case the online ticket cannot be used due to a technical fault, and the passenger is forced to buy another ticket for the same bus, 50 per cent of the base fare will be refunded subject to conditions. A copy of the ticket must be produced.

  • The ticket amount will be refunded if the bus fails to board the passenger from the specified pick-up point.

  • In case of delay in providing a refund, the penalty will be charged to the concerned officer

  • If a passenger is forced to travel on a lower class service instead of a reserved higher class service, the difference in fare will be refunded.
