Elderly woman dies after falling into stream in Pathanamthitta; two people missing 

PATHANAMTHITTA: In a tragic incident, an elderly woman died after falling into a stream in Pathanamthitta. The deceased has been identified as Pazhankulam native Maniyammal (75).

Maniyammal fell into a stream near Pazhamkullam during the heavy rain on Monday afternoon. The body was found in the evening. She has four children: Venugopal, Prameela, Harikumar and Prakash.

Meanwhile, an elderly man has gone missing after he was washed away by the strong currents of the Pallikkal River. Pallikkal native Govindan (63) was washed away by the strong currents when he jumped into the river to pick up the coconuts that fell in the river. The Fire Force has stopped the search due to adverse weather conditions.

A migrant worker hailing from Bihar was also washed away during the heavy rain in Mallappally. The missing person is Bihar native Naresh (25). Police and Fire Force have reached the spot.
