Not just port and airport; Adani Group all set to transform Thiruvananthapuram, many career opportunities

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Adani Group is coming forward with more projects leading to a massive development in the capital city. Reports said that the Adani Group is going ahead with steps to acquire more space in the big cities of the country including Thiruvananthapuram as part of its foothold in the hospitality and retail sector. The aim is to establish shopping malls, restaurants, multiplexes etc near the airports. In addition to Thiruvananthapuram, the report indicates that new commercial hubs will be established in Mumbai, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.

A financial media reported that two acres of land in Thiruvananthapuram has been acquired in the first phase. He will be acquiring 160 acres in Mumbai, 100 acres in Lucknow, 200 acres in Navi Mumbai and 17 acres in Jaipur.

Along with this, there are reports that there may be huge capital investments in the near future for the development of airports including Thiruvananthapuram, which is presently being taken over by the Adani Group. This will happen in the next 5-10 years, but no official confirmation has been received in this regard. Starting retail and hospitality centers near airports will pave way for several employment opportunities for many including the locals.

There were reports earlier that the Adani Group is planning to construct a five-star hotel and air traffic control tower near the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport terminal. The report said the hotel will have 240 rooms. Presently there are no such elite hotels near any airport in Kerala. Pilots and air hostesses are now staying in hotels far from the capital city. If they are able to stay near the airport, loss of time can be reduced. It is a big problem transporting them back to the airport on time from the hotels they are staying due to traffic jams etc.

Elite hotels close to the airport will also be beneficial for the foreigners. With the coming of the hotel complex, the overall development of the capital city will be possible and there will be job opportunities also. The Vizhinjam port itself has changed the face of the capital city. With the completion of the fast-paced national highway upgrade, the development of the capital city will gain more speed. The government is actively considering the implementation of the metro train project in the capital city like Kochi. A decision is likely to be taken in this regard soon.
