IMD warning: Heavy rains likely in nine districts of Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As per IMD prediction, heavy rain is likely across Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts of Kerala during the next three hours. The rain will also be accompanied by gusty winds up to 40 kmph. In other districts of Kerala, rain will be a tad calmer, predicted the IMD.

With strong winds and bad weather likely across the Kerala coast, the fishermen's community are advised to practice caution.

Fishermen and coastal residents beware.

1. As the rough seas are likely to intensify, stay away from the dangerous areas as per the instructions.

2. Keep fishing vessels (boats, boats, etc.) safely moored in the harbour. Keeping a safe distance between boats can avoid the possibility of collision. The safety of fishing equipment should be ensured.

3. Avoid trips to the beach and leisure activities at sea.
