Cabinet approves draft bill to increase panchayat and municipality wards

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet meeting has decided to recommend to the Governor to convene the 11th session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly from June 10. The draft bill for increasing the number of panchayat and municipality wards was also approved in the meeting. Other decisions taken are:

Padma Award Scrutiny Committee

Nominees identified and considered for Padma Awards 2025. A special inspection committee will be formed to finalize the plan. Minister Saji Cherian Convener and Chief Secretary Dr. Venu V will also be the secretary. Ministers K. Rajan, K. Krishnankutty, A. K. Saseendran, K. B Ganesh Kumar, Roshi Augustine and Ramachandran Kadannapally will be members.p

Government guarantee

K Phone Limited will be given a government guarantee to borrow. 25 crore as working capital for a period of five years from Indian Bank's main branch at Thiruvananthapuram to be guaranteed. The Department of Electronics and Information Technology has directed the Secretary to enter into the guarantee agreement.

Government guarantee of Rs.28,11,61,227 will be provided to execute the contract agreement for the development works of Varkala Railway Station and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station.
