KUALA LUMPUR: Indian player PV Sindhu entered the Malaysian Masters Badminton women's singles final. In a three-set battle that lasted 88 minutes, the player defeated Thailand's Busan Ongbamrungphan 13-21, 21-16, 21-12 to enter the final.

Sindhu's opponent in the final is Chinese star Wang Shiyi. The player who lost the first set of the match 13-21 made a strong comeback. Sindhu secured the final by winning the second and third sets in the one and a half hour long match.

Sindhu is entering a world tournament final for the first time since the Spanish Masters in April last year. With the Paris Olympics coming up, the star's achievement is raising India's medal hopes.

Last day, the player reached the semi-finals after defeating top seed Han Yu of China. In the second round, Sindhu also defeated Scotland's Kirsty Gilmore 21-17, 21-16. The player also holds the record of being the most successful Indian player in women's badminton the other day.
