‘Shocked to know it on my first night’; Shobha Vishwanath on her marital breakdown

Some of the allegations levelled by Akhil Marar, winner of Bigg Boss Season 5, are going viral on social media. Akhil raised many allegations including misuse of women. Shobha Vishwanath was the contestant of the same season. Shobha came fourth in the season.

The police had recently registered a case against Akhil Marar on the complaint of Shobha Vishwanath. Akhil informed on social media that even after asking the investigating officer several times, they could not tell him what the crime was and if a woman files a complaint, a case should be filed under Section 153 of the CrPC.

A part of an earlier interview of Shobha given to Kaumudy Movies is going viral on social media. In the interview, she talks about her marital breakdown.

'It was an arranged marriage. I understood it on the first night that he was an alcoholic. Came late heavily drunk. I have never seen anyone in my family smoking or drinking. I'm not saying that drinking is wrong. Everything is needed and it should be balanced. I am against smoking, but I am not against drinking once in a while. Smoking not only causes health issues, but it is harmful to those around you and the environment. So, I don't support it.

I was really shocked. Though so many marriage proposals came, in the end... had to say yes under pressure and it was my decision too. The marriage was soon after the engagement. I came a week before the wedding and told them that I need time. Can say that I didn’t know anything then. I had no voice to take a decision. If you ask me today, I can tell other girls. The others should not repeat the mistakes she committed. Should get married only if you want. Get married only if you are convinced that he is the right person,' said Shobha.
