Youth who harassed Lalettan was taken into van and beaten up, he was then taken to hotel room where Lalettan was staying; this was how superstar responded

'Aye Auto' is a superhit film which starred Mohanlal and Rekha in the lead roles. The film, directed by Venu Nagavally, had Jagadeesh, Kuthiravattom Pappu, Maniyanpilla Raju, Sreenivasan, Murali, Thikkurussi and Sukumari playing pivotal characters. In a recent interview given to Kaumudy Movies, actor Nandu shared an interesting memory during the shooting of the movie.

"There was an experience when we were shooting at Tali Shiva temple. There was a huge crowd. We went and shot at eight or so in the morning and finished the work by ten o'clock. While we were getting back to the car, a youth from the crowd pinched Lalettan in the stomach so hard that his shirt was torn. We didn't know why he pinched him so hard. It might be out of excitement or too much love or even hatred. Somehow, we took Lalettan and Rekha inside the car. It was an AC Ambassador car. It seemed that the guy who pinched Lalettan didn't like the actors getting into the car. He took a stone, smashed the quarter glass of the car and cut the driver's arm with a blade. However, we did not notice it then. The car went to the hotel," Nandu said.

"Someone from the crew had seen all this. He then told us what happened and showed us the guy who pitched Lalettan. After the crowd dispersed, we saw the guy talking to someone. Some of the crew members grabbed him and took him into a van of the production unit. Two of the crew members also got inside the van and asked the driver to take them to the hotel where Lalettan and other stars were staying. The youth was beaten black and blue during the entire journey to the hotel. All his clothes were torn," he said.

"Upon reaching the hotel, we took the youth straight to Lalettan's room. Lalettan was surprised to see the guy in that condition and asked us what happened. He did not even know about the incident. Upon learning about the incident, Lalettan scolded the crew members for beating up the youth. He then removed his shirt and showed the youth injury caused by him. 'See what you did. You pinched me so hard like doing surgery. I had to apply medicine,' Lalettan told him. The youth started crying upon hearing this. He said that he did it out of excitement. He said sorry several times. The youth's shirt was completely torn. Seeing this, Lalettan took a new shirt from his almirah and handed it over to him. The youth was on cloud nine after wearing the shirt given by the superstar," Nandu said.
