‘I have another name in Tamil cinema, Jayam Ravi is the reason why I am called by my original name’; actor Saiju Kurup reveals the reason behind his name change

Unni Mukundan starrer ‘Malikappuram’ is a film running successfully in theatres. Saiju Kurup who played another character in the film was also appreciated for his performance. Apart from sharing details about his latest film, the actor also told Kaumudy Movies about how he changed his name in Tamil cinema.

Saiju Kurup is known as ‘Anirudh’ in Tamil film industry. The actor has revealed why he changed his name. “I did four films in Tamil. Some suggested to change my name when the films failed. I thought I would try that according to numerology. That is how I changed my name to Anirudh. But that movie also failed. While acting with actor Jayam Ravi, I told him that my real name is Saiju Kurup. Then Jayam Ravi started calling me as Saiju. So, from the next movie, my name became Saiju again”, he said.
