Revenue inspector of Perinthalmanna Municipality arrested for taking bribe

PERINTHALMANNA: Malappuram vigilance arrested Unnikrishnan (50), revenue inspector of Perinthalmanna Municipality, and residing in Mylanchiparambu in Valancherry's Irimpalayam, who demanded bribe to change the ownership of a building. The case is on the complaint of Usman, a retired veterinarian in Perinthalmanna.

Rs 2,000 paid by the complainant was recovered from the officer. An application was made to change the ownership of the building on the land purchased in the name of the doctor's daughter. The officer said he want to see the place and demanded Rs 2,000. Following this, the vigilance was informed.

On Wednesday evening, while returning from the spot in the doctor's car, he handed over the notes to Unnikrishnan that the vigilance had sprinkled with special chemical. When they reached in front of the municipality in the car, the vigilance team that followed caught the officer.
