KOCHI: S Rohit, a former SFI leader, has been booked under non-bailable sections of the law for circulating pictures of female students in obscene groups on Facebook. This fresh case has been registered against him under sections of the POCSO and IT Act for spreading pictures of a minor child.

Earlier, Rohit was released on station bail for allegedly circulating the pictures of female students in obscene groups on Facebook. The police action is also in the background of the opposition protesting in the Legislative Assembly against the release of Rohit, who is also an alumnus of Kalady Sreesankara College. Rohit was arrested following an investigation into a picture of a graduate student that was in pornographic groups on Facebook. A case was registered based on the complaint of the student.

As per the complainant, Rohit's house is near the college and even after finishing his course and becoming a photographer, he used to come to college events. During the last college union election also, he took pictures as part of the campaign. Nine more girls have filed a complaint against him.
