Daughter of IAS couple commits suicide by jumping off building in Mumbai

MUMBAI: In a shocking incident, the daughter of an IAS couple committed suicide by jumping off the building in which she lived. The deceased has been identified as Lipi Rastogi (27), a law student in Haryana. Lipi is the daughter of Maharashtra cadre IAS officers. According to police, Lipi committed suicide by jumping from the 10th floor of Suruchi apartment in South Mumbai. The police have found a suicide note in Lipi's room. The note stated that no one was responsible for the suicide.

Police said that Lipi, an LLB student in Sonepat, was worried about her examination results. This is what prompted her to commit suicide, the police added. Lipi's father Vikas Rastogi is Principal Secretary in Maharashtra's Education Department, while her mother Radhika Rastogi is Principal Secretary in the state's Home Department. The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
