CHENNAI: Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay is all set for a big move in Tamil Nadu after announcing his political party. The actor is planning to travel across Tamil Nadu on foot. As part of this, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, headed by Vijay, will hold a state conference soon. Apart from the state conference, the party will also hold four zonal conferences. The first meeting of the party will be held in Trichy.

There are reports that Vijay will reach 100 assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu on foot along with party workers apart from this. Vijay's walk will be on the pattern of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra. Vijay's journey will be to meet the people directly.

After the announcement of the political party, the actor has not called a single meeting of Tamilaka Vetri Kazhagam till now. Earlier it was hinted that the party's grand conference would be called in Madurai on the star's 50th birthday, but that did not happen. The actor had postponed his birthday celebration in the wake of the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy.

The general assessment is that the current political situation favours Vijay. The actor, who criticized the Tamil Nadu government in the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy, had made his first political stand after the party announcement then. In a meeting called to felicitate the students of classes 10 and 12, Vijay had spoke openly against the drug mafia that is running rampant in Tamil Nadu.
