BJP's calculations went wrong in these four states; Uniform civil code, CAA backlashed?

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP miscalculated in four states to rule for the third time by winning a majority alone. They are Maharashtra, where the political crisis took place; Rajasthan, where the infighting in the party went beyond limits; and Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, where they had overconfidence.

It is estimated that tough stances like the citizenship issue and the uniform civil code have done more harm than good to the party. It was calculated that the citizenship issue would help BJP in Bengal. But it didn't happen. In Bengal, which held 18 out of 42 seats in the last election, it had to be reduced to ten seats.

Maharashtra was the state that got 41 out of 48 last time. It must be judged that the division of the Shiv Sena into two has had a negative impact. This time it was to be restricted to just 18 seats.

The party faced a tough group fight in Rajasthan, where it defeated former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raja Scindia. The BJP won 25 out of 25 seats in 2019, but this time it got only 14 seats.

In Uttar Pradesh, the overconfidence given by Yogi Adityanath's victory and the Ram temple has been humbled. A total of 33 seats were obtained out of 80. Here, the Congress strategy to fight the BJP along with the Samajwadi Party benefited the India Front. The consolidation of the anti-BJP vote took place with this.

RSS, the parent movement of BJP, is entering its 100th year in 2025. BJP not being able to form a solid government on this occasion is a severe setback politically as well as ideologically.
