THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rain has been pouring incessantly since Saturday morning in Kerala. Taking not of the intensifying monsoon, IMD has issued an orange alert in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram and Wayanad districts are on yellow alert today.

According to IMD, in the next three hours, moderate rains with thunder and lightning are likely in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam districts.

The low-pressure belt extends from the north Kerala coast to the Maharashtra coast. Meanwhile a whirlwind formation has been located over the central western Bay of Bengal near the coast of Andhra Pradesh.
