h

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The water authority is procuring Android palm-held devices that can pay bills while taking water readings. First 1000 meters will be purchased from Linkwell Company, Hyderabad. 2000 meters required. 20,000 per meter. The cost is two crores. The contract is in final stage.

A company called Evolute also participated in the tender. When the financial tender was opened, Linkwell, which quoted the lowest amount, was selected. Evolute approached the water authority after seeing that there was a case against Linkwell in Madhya Pradesh. The water authority's legal cell has assessed that the case will not affect them. After notifying Evolute on the 12th, the contract will be signed with Linkwell.

E-Payment

The customer can pay the bill using debit, credit card or UPI while the meter readers are taking the reading. With GPS, readers can map each water meter. The route from one meter to the next meter is also known through GPS. Accurate readings can be taken even if readers change. The image of the meter is also recorded on the machine. Future disputes can also be avoided. The reading of the machine will be recorded in real time on the central server of the water authority. Every employee knows how many meters they have read and how far they have traveled in a day.
