JAKARTA: A missing woman was found swallowed by a python. The local media reported the incident that happened in Kalempang village in South Sulawesi province of Indonesia. 45-year-old Farida was swallowed by a 16-feet-long python. The search team found the python on Friday.
Farida, a mother of four, went missing on Thursday night. Village head Suradi Rosi told AFP news agency that a search was underway for the woman. Her husband found her belongings which made him suspicious. Suradi said that when the search was intensified, the python was found resting with a large belly. Farida's head was found when cut open the python's stomach.
This is not the first incident in Indonesia. Similar incidents have happened in the country in the past few years. Last year, the incident also took place in another village in Sulawesi’s Tinanggea. An eight-metre python swallowed a farmer whole in an oil palm plantation in Sulawesi. In 2018, a 54-year-old woman in Muna Town was found dead inside a seven-metre python in Sulawesi’s Muna town.
