'Some are trying to create smokescreen that Suresh Gopi won't take up ministerial post, he cannot be broken'

surendran

PALAKKAD: BJP State President K Surendran has addressed the continuing controversies surrounding Suresh Gopi, who has recently been appointed Minister of State. Surendran remarked that the same forces who opposed him during his electoral defeat are now attempting to undermine his ministerial position. Initially, there were rumours that Suresh Gopi was appointed chairman of the Satyajit Ray Film Institute to prevent him from contesting in Thrissur. Later, when he became a candidate, narratives emerged suggesting that state elements tried to ensure his defeat. Currently, there is speculation that he will not assume his ministerial role. Surendran firmly stated that these efforts cannot weaken either Suresh Gopi or BJP.

Surendran emphasized that the appointment of two ministers from Kerala reflects the Prime Minister's commitment to the state. He announced that the BJP will organize a robust people's march against the corruption and betrayal of the Pinarayi government. A state leadership meeting will be held next week to discuss these issues.

Surendran also highlighted that the anti-incumbency sentiment against the Left government benefited the NDA, not the UDF. According to Surendran, as long as Pinarayi Vijayan remains ignorant, no change will occur. He mocked the recent CPM leadership meeting, where leaders discussed party conduct over four days of eating sambar and vada. Surendran concluded that Pinarayi Vijayan's dictatorship and corruption would ultimately lead to the CPM's downfall.
