ALAPPUZHA: The fight among the CPM leaders is escalating in the party soon after the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. Senior leader G Sudhakaran leveled serious allegations against former minister and LDF candidate Elamaram Kareem in Kozhikode constituency. Kareem lost for 1.5 lakh votes in his hometown. However, Sudhakaran asked shouldn’t we examine this. Kareem was a member of the commission that investigated Sudhakaran in Ambalapuzha in 2021 when the party won by more than 11,000 votes.
Sudhakaran mocked that one who conducted an investigation in Ambalapuzha, after win, lost by 1.5 lakh votes in his hometown. A person who did not know the geography of Alappuzha came to investigate. After reaching here, eight leaders who went to give evidence were threatened. He also alleged that Kareem threatened those who testified that the fault was not on Sudhakaran's side.
Sudhakaran said that he was not informed in advance about the agenda of the state committee meeting to discuss the Ambalapuzha investigation report and only came to know about it after reaching for the meet. He asked shouldn’t we examine how Kareem was defeated. Despite the party's victory in Ambalapuzha, neither the party nor the state committee understood him, said Sudhakaran.
Sudhakaran also came against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The senior leader said that he has no emotional connection with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and that he has no leader beyond V S Achuthanandan then and now. He also said that he faces discrimination from the new generation of leaders. Sudhakaran also said that the party should understand and correct things to come back from the present situation.
