Man beats mother with wooden stick, fractures her hand for delay in getting drinking water

KADAKKAL: A man fractured his mother's hand by hitting her with a wooden stick in anger at the delay in getting drinking water while eating food. Nasseruddin (42), the said man, was arrested under non-bailable sections for injuring his mother, Kulsum Beevi (67), of Chirakkara Veedu in Kaniyarukonam in Kottukkal.

The incident happened on June 16 around 4 pm. Nasseruddin pushed Kulsum Beevi who came out to draw water from the well, grabbed the bucket by force and after scooping the water, smashed the bucket and nearby switch board. At this time, Kulsum, went inside the house, and Nasseruddin came behind her and hit her with a piece of wood.

Screaming, Kulsum Beevi ran to the house next door. After getting to know about this, Noushad, Kulsum's elder son living in Pathadi, along with the locals filed a complaint with the Kadakkal police and brought the woman to Kadakkal taluk hospital. On the morning of June 17, she was taken to Paripally Medical College Hospital and plaster was cast on her hand.

The police reached home in search of Nasseruddin but he had escaped. Then he was called on the phone and asked to appear at the station on June 21. Nasseruddin arrived at the police station after this and his arrest was recorded. He was produced in court and remanded.
