IB chief's tenure extended for one more year

NEW DELHI: The tenure of Intelligence Bureau chief Tapan Kumar Deka has been extended till 2025. The decision was made by the Cabinet Appointments Committee chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The decision comes at a time when Deka, a Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS officer, is about to complete his tenure on June 30. Deka became the head of IB in July 2022.
