NEW DELHI: Popular author and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty recalled an incident when she received a phone call from the late APJ Abdul Kalam. The anecdote was shared with netizens through X.

Sharing a picture of receiving the Padma Shri award from APJ Kalam in 2006, Mrs Murty revealed the happenings.

Sudha Murty:

“One day I got a phone call saying APJ Abdul Kalam wanted to talk to you. I was in disbelief and was sure that Mr Kalam might have mistaken Mr Narayan Murty for Mrs Murty. I inquired about my doubts with the caller but he assured me that President Kalam wanted to talk with Mrs Murty. I was confused and perturbed at the same time since I didn’t know what wrong I committed for the president to directly ring me up.

However, to my relief, President Kalam wanted to talk about my column on 'IT Divider' and he praised it saying it made him giggle throughout the read. He also commented on my columns and said he never missed a chance to read it.”
