GUWAHATI: A search continues for the eight-year-old boy, who fell into the drain at Guwahati in Assam. The boy’s father has been searching for him using an iron rod for the past three days. The boy identified as Abhinash slipped from his father Hiralal’s scooter and fell into the drain while returning home during heavy rains. Hiralal said that he saw his son’s hand in the drain and dived in, but couldn’t get hold of him.

He spent the whole night in the verandah of a shop after searching for him the whole day. The police have also intervened in the incident. They have intensified search for the boy. The boy’s father said that in the search, he got his son’s sandals, from the garbage and mud piled there.

'I found my son's sandals during a search in the drain with an iron rod. But he has not been found yet. I can't find him with just an iron rod. The government has a mechanism for that. The government should find my son and give me,’ said Hiralal.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sharma met Hiralal and his wife. The government ordered to intensify the search for Abhinash. The mission has been entrusted to many agencies. Police are continuing the search using dogs and bulldozers. The concrete slabs in the drain are being removed and searched.
