THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister KB Ganesh Kumar on Thursday informed the assembly that the computerization of KSRTC will be completed within six months. He said that more facilities would be introduced in bus stands similar to that of railway stations.

"Arrival and departure of buses to the stand will be displayed on the screen. There will also be an announcement system. KSRTC will also introduce a facility for cashless travel on its buses," the minister said.

"The government will issue a special order for purchasing computers from MLAs' funds. KSRTC MD will be authorized to purchase computers using the sanctioned funds. 65 per cent of the shops in KSRTC's shopping complexes remain vacant. Vendors are not showing interest in these shops as huge amounts are being demanded even to participate in the tender. The rental rate will be revised," the minister said.
