Diesal price reduces by Rs 2, petrol price adjusted, Maharashtra govt cuts fuel tax

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar ordered to reduce the price of diesel and petrol in the state. He made the new announcement while presenting the state budget for 2024-24. The Deputy Chief Minister announced that the tax on diesel will be reduced from 24 percent to 21 percent and the tax on petrol will be reduced from 26 percent to 25 percent.

With this, price of one liter of diesel will be reduced by Rs 2 and petrol by 65 paise in Mumbai areas. The new change will be implemented in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Today, a liter of petrol costs Rs 104.21 and diesel costs Rs 92.15.

He also announced financial assistance of Rs 1500 per month will be provided to eligible women in the age group of 21 to 60 years of the state. He said that the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana scheme will be implemented even before the assembly elections and Rs 46,000 crore will be allocated for the scheme. The government has also announced another scheme under the Chief Minister's Annapurna Yojana which will provide three cooking gas cylinders free of cost every year to an eligible family of five.
