THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the onset of monsoon, fever is spreading in the state. 10,914 people sought treatment in hospitals yesterday. 81,127 people sought treatment during one week. Yesterday alone, 186 people were also confirmed with dengue fever.

This month till yesterday 21,86,84 people were confirmed with fever. Three people died due to fever. An increase in rabies, dengue and H-one-n-one is also a concern. Health experts say that because it is the rainy season, communicable diseases are taking hold.

In June, 253 people were infected with rat fever. 18 of them died. 812 people have been diagnosed with dengue in a week. 1912 people were infected with dengue this month. 3 deaths also occurred. This month 500 people were infected with yellow bile and five people died. In June 275 people were infected with H1N1 and three people died.

With the increase in dengue fever, hepatitis A, typhoid fever and rat fever patients, government hospitals, including medical colleges, have run out of beds. There is a huge increase in the number of patients in private hospitals and clinics. Mostly contagious. This year the number of dengue fever and jaundice cases is high. It is estimated that epidemics will increase as the rains intensify.
