NEW DELHI: The CPM central committee meeting expressed the opinion that deviating from the proposals, including those put forward at the party congress, alienates the LDF government in Kerala from the people and that the government should work under the party. The central committee has also asked to take vote leak seriously. The three-day meeting will conclude today with the completion of the discussion on the report of General Secretary Sitaram Yechury.
It was suggested that the work of the government of Kerala should be extended to the lower sections in order to gain the trust of the people. "Any deviation from the party's proposals has led to alienating people and losing their confidence. This led to the election setback. To recover it, the government must work under the party," the report reads.
"Leakage of party votes should be taken seriously. The growth of the BJP in Kerala and the party votes they are getting are a cause for concern," the report added. Most of the members from Kerala participated in yesterday's discussion.
In Yechury's report, the things put forward by the Kerala unit for the election defeat were rejected. There was criticism that the argument that the caste and religious groups were alienated cannot be accepted without analyzing the defeat from a Marxian perspective.
