dgp-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: T Umar Sharif, who lodged a complaint against Kerala DGP Sheikh Darvesh Saheb in connection with a land deal, said that what the DGP is saying is not true and as per the agreement the land has no liabilities. Umar Sharif said that he found the liability when he enquired about it due to suspicion and that he would withdraw from the case if his money is returned.

"I paid Rs 15 lakhs first. When he asked for another Rs25 lakhs, I asked for the original documents. Then he said he doesn't have it with him. Then when I contacted the bank, I came to know that there is a liability of Rs. 26 lakhs on the property. The eighth paragraph of the agreement states that there is no lien on the land. I signed the contract and gave the money believing that. After that, I informed him that I am not interested in purchasing the land and is withdrawing from the contract. When I asked to return my money, he said he would," Umar said.

"I sent him a notice after the money was not paid. I demanded to return the money and said I am not interested in proceeding with the case. However, his reply was that he will not return the money and can give the land. Then I approached the court with the documents. An online complaint has been filed with the Chief Minister against the DGP. I also met the political secretary and complained. P Sasi said that there is n need to meet the Chief Minister and everything can be solved' - Umar Sharif added.
