ALAPPUZHA: A new breakthrough has been made in the search for the body of a woman who went missing 15 years ago in Mannar. Kala's remains were found out during the search in the septic tank of the house in Iramathur where Kala is believed to have been hidden. The police informed that it will be sent for examination. It needs to be confirmed that if the remains are those of Kala. Detailed investigation is ongoing.

Kala (20), a native of Mavelikara Mannar, went missing 15 years ago. The inspection is conducted by demolishing the septic tank in the compound of Kala's husband Anil's house. The investigation is being conducted after the police received information that the woman was killed and buried. Kala's husband is working in Israel. The police are making efforts to bring him home.

Kala has been missing for 15 years. Kala had a baby when she went missing. Anil and Kala belong to different communities. Relatives were not interested in Anil marrying Kala. That is why Kala was staying at Anil's relative's house after marriage. Kala was not very close to her own family. Suddenly, one day Kala went missing. Although the police received a complaint, there was no significant progress in the investigation. Later Anil married someone else.

Three months ago, the Mannar Police received a tip-off regarding the disappearance of Kala and with this, the investigation was started again. It is suggested that one of the accused revealed the information about Kala's murder in a drinking party. Someone who was there must have sent the letter to the police. One of the accused in the incident had previously served jail time in a case of trying to endanger his wife and children. Anil's friends and relatives are in custody in the case.

Some informed Anil that the young woman was having a relationship with another man. It is reported that after this there were arguments between Anil and Kala. When the woman tried to go back to her own home, Anil demanded their son's custody. Later, after reaching home, he talked to Kala and hired a car and travelled to Kuttanad. In the meantime, the police got the information that Anil called five of his friends and killed Kala. Police say that the accused then buried the body in the septic tank.
