Kochi is Kerala's drug city, drugs are easily available in every nook and corner; renowned model makes shocking revelations

KOCHI: Renowned model Alka Boney has made a startling revelation that the sale of drugs is widespread in Kochi and that synthetic drugs are more easily available in the city when compared to Mumbai and Bengaluru. Alka, who was recently arrested in a drug case, made the revelation during an interview given to a news channel after getting released on bail. Alka, a native of Varappuzha, is a prominent model working in Bengaluru and Mumbai.

According to Alka, drugs are sold openly during the night in places such as Marine Drive and Kaloor Stadium.

"When you go to these places, some people with drugs in their pockets will approach you asking if you want it. These people sell drugs when the police are not around. In large cities such as Mumbai and Bengaluru, drugs are sold only in some areas. There, only those people who have connections can get drugs from suppliers. However, in Kochi, anyone can easily get drugs," Alka Boney said.

"Not everyone in the modelling field uses drugs. However, some people regularly use drugs. I had used drugs for three years. However, I've never sold drugs to anyone. I'm currently haunted by health issues caused by the use of drugs. I will never use drugs in my life," she said.

In May, six persons, including Alka, were arrested from a hotel room in Kochi for possessing drugs, including cocaine. According to Alka, the drugs seized from the hotel room were not meant for sale.

"Only a small amount of drugs were seized from the room. It was a friend of mine who brought it to the room. It was not meant for sale. However, this person was not among the ones arrested by the police," she said.

Alka, who was arrested on her birthday, was released on bail after remaining in jail for several days.
