More coaches allowed in trains operating in Kerala during daytime

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: To solve the increased rush and train travel woes, more coaches has been allowed in day trains operating in the state. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Railway Minister V Abdurahiman on Wednesday. In the meeting, the railway representatives informed that they will seriously consider the allegation of holding up other trains on the way to allow Vande Bharat trains to pass.

The Shornur-Kannur passenger will be extended up to Kasaragod. Railways will consider the need for a special train to solve the holiday rush if the government demands it. Aso, an application will be submitted to the Railway Board to give a stop to the Raajdhani in Malappuram district.

Divisional Railway Manager Dr. Manish Thapliyal, Transport Secretary Biju Prabhakar, KRDCL Director Ajith Kumar V, Palakkad ADR MK Anilkumar, Palakkad DOM Gopu R Unnithan, Thiruvananthapuram Senior DOM A Vijayan, Thiruvananthapuram Senior DCM Y Selvin and others were present in the meeting.
