ISRO espionage case fabricated; CBI charge sheet that Nambi Narayanan was arrested without evidence

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CBI charge sheet that ISRO espionage case was fabricated. It is stated in the charge sheet that the espionage case was the brainchild of former circle inspector S Vijayan of the special branch. The chargesheet was filed by the CBI team which investigated the conspiracy case which is part of the ISRO espionage case.

The reason for the enmity was that Mariam Rasheeda resisted when Vijayan misbehaved with her at the hotel. The espionage case was registered days after the arrest of Mariam Rasheeda. The case was registered after the court did not remand the case. A case was registered against Mariam Rasheeda at Vanchiyoor station without any evidence. Rasheeda was unjustly detained and allowed to be interrogated by the IB team. She was tortured in custody to make her confess.

IB officials illegally interrogated her even while she was in SIT custody. It was CI KK Joshua who was part of the investigation team who forged the documents. There is no evidence in the case of espionage. Nothing was found from the house of the accused. Joshua forged the document for Siby Mathews, his superior. Former IB officer Jayaprakash assaulted Nambi Narayanan in custody. According to the CBI's charge sheet, Siby Mathews arrested Nambi Narayanan without any evidence.

The accused are former SP Vijayan, former DGP Siby Mathews, former DGP RB Sreekumar, former CI KK Joshua and former IB officer Jayaprakash. Other officials who were in the FIR were exempted. There were 18 accused in the FIR. The accused have been charged with conspiracy, misbehaving with women, restraining and physical assault.
