KOZHIKODE: Urgent CPM district committee meeting will be held today to discuss the case of bribery for PSC membership. This is when the state secretary and the district secretary reiterated that the party had no role in the bribery and that there was no investigation.

The district committee will discuss the decisions of the district secretariat and town area committee meeting held the previous day. Keeping aside the corruption case that was dismissed by the party, the party is trying to save itself by removing Pramod Kotuli from the party committees for the time being based on the discovery that Pramod has connections with real estate mafias and his activities under the town area committee are against party discipline. The information received is that Pramod Kotuli will be removed from the position of Area Committee member and District Secretary of CITU.

Pramod had given an explanation to the district secretary the other day as demanded by the party district secretariat. Pramod's explanation is that he is only a member of the area committee and has not been involved in this kind of bribery case of lakhs and does not know the complainants.

It was alleged that Pramod Kotuli demanded 60 lakhs from a Homeopathy doctor on the promise of PSC membership or a top position in the AYUSH department and took 22 lakhs as the first installment. A Youth Congress leader had lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner demanding an investigation into the incident. City Police Commissioner Rajpal Meena has asked the Medical College Assistant Commissioner to investigate this complaint.
