Like turning dog into rabid dog, will convince truth to my mother and son: Pramod Kottoolli

KOZHIKODE: Former CPM leader Pramod Kottoolli and his mother staged a sit-in in front of the complainant's house after the party took action against him on the complaint that he took a bribe by offering PSC membership. "My mother and son should be made aware of the truth. The party should also check whether it has been misled," Pramod told the media. "Sreejith, the complainant, should say who is behind this. I am going to Sreejith's house for the first time," added Pramod.

"It has been alleged for the past several days that I have taken bribes. They say I am a real estate mafia. These people should tell me what business I have done in the city of Kozhikode. I have to convince my mother that I did nothing wrong. I became a comrade only after becoming a son. Give evidence if I have taken a bribe of 22 lakh rupees. Who conspired and brought me here? If someone has accepted 22 lakh rupees, who is it? Who gave it? When was it accepted? Convince my mother."

"I have been working in the party for so long. Am I a bad person? If there is such a mafia, I have the responsibility to prove it. I want to know who gave this address to the environment I have been living in. I am not challenging anyone. The party is getting worse in front of the society."

"I am not a person who can hire a lawyer. There will be mafias and real estate here. But, do not bring a person who has not done any of this and turn him into a thief. This is like turning a dog into a rabid dog," said Pramod.

"Sreejith came to me as a friend of my brother-in-law. He did not tell me who took the money. My guardian is my party. Someone in that position told me not to contact Sreejith. I am not a person who talks threateningly to anyone. I am here protesting so that Sreejith will tell whether he has paid money," said Pramod.

Pramod's reaction came after CPM expelled him in the bribery scandal. CPM Kozhikode district committee met today to discuss action against Pramod Kottoolli. It was in this meeting that it was decided to cancel Pramod Kottoolli's primary membership.

State secretariat members TP Ramakrishnan, Mohammad Riyaz and others participated in the meeting held at the district committee office. Although a section of the district committee members were against the action, it has been informed that the decision to expel Pramod Kottoolli from the party has been taken based on the instructions given by the state leadership.
