'I pinched Jayaram while shooting the love scene', Urvashi recollects shooting experiences of 'Malootty'

Urvashi, Malayali's favourite actress known for her strong characters and comedic roles, recently shared some interesting experiences from her acting career on a channel program. The actress opened up about her time working on the film 'Malootty' with Jayaram, directed by Bharathan.

"Jayaram should be praised for his performance in 'Malootty.' When working in Bharathan uncle's films, we can't say 'I can't do this' or 'I can't do that.' There was a scene where the husband and wife, who haven't seen each other for a while, needed to show more love. During the shoot, I pinched Jayaram's rib with my fingernail to get a reaction," Urvashi recounted.

"Jayaram then said, 'If you can't act, tell the director, Podi (Urvashi), why are you pinching me?' I thought pinching him would get an upset expression on his face and then the scene would be cut. We didn’t have the formality of saying sorry between us," she added. Urvashi and Jayaram went on to star in several films together, including 'Mukhachitram,' 'Kadinjool Kalyanam' and 'Ponmuttayidunna Thaaravu.'

Urvashi also talked about her friendship with Jayaram and his wife, Parvathi. "Jayaram was in love with Parvathi while acting in 'Malootty' and I helped their love a lot. Not only me, but everyone has helped. Parvathi and Jayaram are my closest friends. Jayaram would call the hotel at the movie location and I would call when Parvathi and Amma were there," she said.
