Kerala to receive heavy rains for two more days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain and wind will continue in Kerala for two more days due to the presence of a low pressure area from the north Kerala coast to the south Gujarat coast and as the speed of monsoon winds has increased to 65 kmph. A new low pressure may form in the Bay of Bengal today. The existing low pressure weakened.

Orange alert has been sounded today in Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. Yellow alert is in place in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha. Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts are likely to have wind gusts of up to 55 kmph, so people are advised to avoid fishing till Sunday.
