Attention passengers! This rule empowers TTE to remove commuters from trains even if they hold ticket

tte-

A travelling ticket examiner (TTE) forcing ticketless passengers out of the train is an usual sight. But TTE also has the power to deboard the passengers even if they possess a ticket.

The TTE reserves the right to stop the passenger from travelling if he becomes aware of the ill health of a passenger before or during the journey. This rule applies irrespective of the class of the ticket. TTE can remove a person from the train if he/she insists on continuing the journey even if his/her health may deteriorate during the journey. According to the railway director, the Indian Railways is implementing this rule keeping in mind the safety and welfare of the passengers.

This rule is being implemented considering that it is difficult to get urgent medical attention during a train journey. Those who insist on continuing the journey even in poor health should produce a medical certificate. Otherwise, the TTE may not allow them to board the train or remove them from the train. Railways are also authorized to take disciplinary action against employees who do not comply with this rule.
