Young woman faints after receiving tetanus shot; medical negligence complaint against doctor in Neyyattinkara

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint about medical negligence in Neyyattinkara General Hospital emerged on Saturday after a patient went unconscious after being administered an injection for kidney stone treatment. A case has been registered.

The case was registered on the complaint of the husband of Krishna Thankappan, a native of Neyyattinkara. The unconscious woman was shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

Krishna reached the hospital on the 15th of this month. The young woman suffered from a series of allergies and sought treatment for the same. However, it is now concluded that the doctors administered the shot making the woman go through a mandatory allergy test. The 28-year-old woman has been undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital for the past six days. A case has been registered against Dr Vinu of Neyyattinkara General Hospital.
