THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fisherman died after his boat capsized in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. Mariyanadu native Purayedam Pathros (58) succumbed to his injuries. At 6:45 on Monday morning, a boat ferrying six members capsized in the strong currents leaving all of them on sea. All the members swam to the shore escaping the tragedy.

However, Pathros was badly hurt after colliding with the boat and was rushed to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, but his life couldn’t be saved. This is the third boat capsizing accident in Mariyanadu over a week.

Two days ago, a fisherman died after his boat overturned in Mariyanadu. Xavier (62), a native of Mariyanadu, died. The accident occurred when the boat overturned in a strong current while he was returning from fishing.
